Great value, and stunning chalet apartments. It’s interesting to see the perception of self-catered accommodation – however there are some really attractive high end properties around that don’t offer a catered service. Much more of a home-away from home holiday.

Hi there,

There is also some great off piste in Val D’Isere, on the back of the Solaise Express lift. Was out in march, Second best, if not the best off piste I have ever done.

Am heading back out to Val in November

Think that Val is the best place to spend time skiing. Just the combination of quality runs, good food + drink and well serviced lifts. Great season every season in Val!

For great value skiing you could try some of the lesser known resorts, Austria (Au, Damuls) but aslo in the french and spanish pyrenees. A cracking resort Alpe 2500 represents 100% alpine skiing for 50% of the cost. Night life low key though.

Wow thats a lot of snow. Maybe this year skiing in scotland will become even more popular. Espcially with the recession it will be cheaper for us in the UK to ski in scotland than travel to the Alps! Whats you favourite ski area in scotland?

On a return through Geneva after a week’s skiing we were faced with the Easyjet check in. Now of course being good and allowing extra time to get there means nothing when you’re told that you can’t check in until your flight appears on the few user terminals that are dotted around the place. So everyone hovers around what would be the start of the queue until the anticipated moment arrives. There’s probably at least 2 or 3 people in wheelchairs and/or crutches who didn’t survive the week unscathed. When the moment arrives there’s a scramble for the terminals to check in, a certain amount of confusion, then a fight to get back in the queue. That’s all before the josting to get a seat when boarding. Still, it’s the price you pay for economy, and at least it was none of us in the wheelchair.
