One of Jane’s favourite days on the slopes…

Erna Low’s Managing Director Jane Bolton reflects on one of her favourite days on the mountain (just yesterday)…

I am sitting in the little known resort of Vallorcine reflecting on what has been one of my favourite ski days (well afternoon if truth be told) ever. Having had a fun morning sledging with the little’uns, we headed up around 13h worrying about flat light, high winds and sub zero temperatures. We then found out that the train from Chamonix and Argentiere had not been running and we were staggered to find the slopes almost empty and in perfect condition. The off piste was most excellent too. Although officially closed, I think the liftie at the tete de balme chairlift saw our excited faces so let us up again and at the top, the cloud was lifting and the sun was shining. It was a fabulous and spectacular reward and an afternoon I will always remember for all the right reasons.
