End of Season Heaven in Morzine

Simon, one of Erna Low’s sales consultants, flew in from Geneva and returned to the office this morning after his trip to Morzine this weekend – check out that snow and sunshine in the pics below –  it’s not too late to go yourself if you have the chance!

Blue skies, deserted slopes and great snow – what a beautiful weekend in Morzine.  The bountiful snow this season has created great end of season conditions and with the sun out it’s a great time for a last minute trip to the Alps.

I had never been to Morzine before but was very impressed, not only by the lovely traditional resort but by the huge variety of skiing on offer.  Avoriaz offers high alpine skiing and access to the pistes over in Switzerland whilst the Morzine/Les Gets area offers kilometer upon kilometer of lovely blue and red run cruising.

We stayed at the L’Aiglon which has a superb location just 5 minutes walk from the Super Morzine lift to Avoriaz and 10 minutes from the Pleney bubble lift which accesses the Morzine/Les Gets sector.  The L’Aiglon offer superior quality accommodation and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities, as well as balconies and a huge terrace on which to enjoy the afternoon sun.  There is also a supermarket just 1 minute away as well as the excellent la Chaudanne restaurant just across the road for that special evening meal.
